THIRD IN FRIDAY NIGHT MAGIC AT BATTLE STATION TOOOWOOMBA! yeah :3 I’m happy.
Sealed deck construction. Scars of Mirrodin and New Phyrexia. Aww yeah bitches. Best I’ve ever done.
Drafts tonight went horribly ;_;
WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE MY GOOD GAMES WHEN THEY DON’T ACTUALLY COUNT?
And why do I never pull good cards in booster packs :c
Though I did manage to nab a Grimoire of the Dead, Drogskol Reaver (though that’s only because my boyfriend who was sitting beside me pulled an Elbrus, Drogskol and shiny Increasing Devotion. He kept the Elbrus and passed me the Drogskol, knowing I wanted it :3) and an Essence of the Wild. So I suppose that’s not toooo bad, pretty card wise..
I’m contemplating on going standard for realzies next week. I think my human deck can handle it. I feel a coach pepping up my athlete. I want to shuffle my deck and mutter encouraging things to it.
I played an awesome three way (only true magic players can read that sentence with out giggling) against my friends Matt and Duane. Matt had two lumberknots, and a golgari grave troll, and both things were pumped to the max. Duane and I instantly agreed we’d join forces to take that shit down. Heh, Duane basically sacrificed himself… oh wait, I could have saved him, so basically I sacrificed him, and I won by Matt milling himself out :D
The last game I played in Drafts was reasonably epic as well. We had a massive stalemate. He had flyers, I had flyers, but his flyers were bigger then mine, so I wasn’t going to attack. Also, I had my grimore of the dead out, so if either of the creatures started dying, I could have waited and gotten them all back in a massive rush. BUT, in the end, by sacrificing the grimore of the dead to no effect, I tricked him into attacking me with everything, the damage which I prevented by using lost in the mist, which had it’s fateful hour ability activated, which meant his creatures couldn’t untap on his next turn :D It was the only game I won all night, but it was most certainly the most wonderful.
Grimoire of the dead is awesome… even if you aren’t playing zombies, it’s fun just to be able to bring everything back.
Afterwards my boyfriend and I went to Pancake manor for noms. Martin was putting his rares into his folder on the table and TWO waiters walked past and had a conversation with us about Magic the Gathering. Employers of Pancake Manor, I salute you.
I promise I’ll post my human deck one day, but right now, sleep time.
Akroma, Angel of Wrath? *drools a little*
See, most people I talk would say “naaaah, that’s not thaaat good, it costs 8 mana to get it out”. But really, that’s not that bad. Especially with white. You can easily makes a game last for 8 turns. Or, alternatively, fuckin’ mana buffs. If you want to play big creatures, it’s really not that much of a hassle.
Hah, and that’s my pearl of magic wisdom for today… you know.. from all my years of experience and stuff…
